Job summary

Russells Technical Products is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for custom and standard environmental test chambers. This role collaborates with Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Production, Test, Service, and Project Management to bring projects from design through manufacturing, testing, installation, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electrical design, controls, or industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Experience using electrical design or engineering software, preferably Inventor.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for custom and standard environmental test chambers.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and related engineering documentation.
• Select appropriate electrical components, including controls, sensors, relays, contactors, breakers, disconnects, transformers, motors, and other electrical devices.
• Design control panels and electrical systems while considering safety, functionality, reliability, cost, and ease of manufacturing.
• Review customer specifications and project requirements and translate them into practical electrical designs.
• Work with Mechanical Engineering and Cabinet Design to ensure electrical components and systems properly integrate with the chamber design.
• Support the development and improvement of standard chamber electrical designs.
• Develop custom electrical solutions for unique customer applications.
• Review drawings and engineering documents for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
• Assist with electrical troubleshooting during assembly, testing, installation, and service.
• Work directly with production and test personnel to resolve electrical issues and answer technical questions.
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
• Provide technical support to Field Service personnel when needed.
• Assist with customer technical questions related to electrical systems and chamber operation.
• Research electrical components, codes, standards, and new technologies as needed.
• Assist with electrical component selection and supplier coordination.
