Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to help build a new containerized power generation line for data centers in Sidney, OH. You will own electrical design and integration of large generator systems, enclosures, connections, and control interfaces for scalable manufacturing.

The role requires experience in power generation, 3+ years of design work, and proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in power generation, critical facilities, industrial systems, modular infrastructure, or related industries.
• Experience designing power distribution systems and power generation equipment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generator systems, electrical protection and coordination, LV/MV distribution, and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for containerized and modular power generation packages supporting data center applications.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layouts, and system architecture documentation.
• Perform electrical calculations including load flow, equipment sizing, short-circuit studies, voltage drop, and protective device coordination.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and meet reliability requirements.
