Job summary
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineer to support or lead electrical infrastructure for the ALS-U project. You will work on AC distribution, cable routing, grounding, and related facility systems, using CAD tools to develop documentation and ensure installation quality.
The role involves design, integration, testing, commissioning, and collaboration with engineers, scientists, technicians, and contractors in a large-scale laboratory
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum experience, or Master's with less experience.
- Experience with AC distribution, cable tray/raceway, grounding, and electrical installation.
- Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, layouts, and cable routing plans.
- Experience supporting electrical system testing, integration, or commissioning.
- Familiarity with procurement and QA processes; DOE/lab environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support design and installation planning of AC distribution and cable systems.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, layouts, and BOMs.
- Apply NEC and lab standards to electrical design activities.
- Lead or support design reviews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate contractor activities and verify conformance to designs.
