Job summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California is seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Designer to support the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project on-site. You will create electrical CAD models, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and testing, working with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and well-documented.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed electrical CAD models, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Develop electrical designs that translate concepts into manufacturable products.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback and approved changes.
• Prepare manufacturing-ready electrical documentation for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
