Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer Co-op to join the Valves Group. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop vacuum valve products and find innovative ways to solve customer problems.

You will participate in the design and debugging of analog and digital hardware, perform board bring-up, and contribute to DFMEA and design reviews, gaining broad exposure to product development.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or relevant majors.
• Solid fundamental knowledge in electrical engineering.
• Able to read electrical schematics.
• Proficient with measurement tools like multimeter and oscilloscope.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of analog and digital electronic hardware used to control vacuum valves.
• Assist with design, debugging and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microprocessor-based control and communication hardware platform.
• Participate in project activities, including DFMEA, design reviews, and creation of technical specifications.
• Perform FAs for customers, make a corrective action plan to mitigate design issues and/or work with vendors to resolve component quality issues.
• Evaluate the design to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Communicate technical information effectively in both oral and written form.
