Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer Co-op to join the team. In this position, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers to develop vacuum valve products and find innovative ways to solve customer problems.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or relevant majors.
• Solid fundamental knowledge and skills in electrical engineering.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Proficient with multi-meter, oscilloscope, and other equipment for embedded systems development.
• Good communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision with strong sense of ownership and desire for excellence.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of analog and digital electronic hardware used to control vacuum valves.
• Assist with design, debugging and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microprocessor-based control and communication hardware platform using simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing.
• Participate in project activities, including DFMEA, design reviews, and creation of technical specifications.
• Perform FAs for customers, create corrective action plans to mitigate design issues and work with vendors to resolve component quality issues.
• Evaluate the design to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Communicate technical information effectively in both oral and written form.
