Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team in Minneapolis, MN. The engineer will provide technical assistance and support for the design of electrical systems in various projects, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in electrical design, along with proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit. This position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary.

Job description

Electrical Engineer – Minneapolis, MN

Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance for the design, development, and construction of building electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
  • Support electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and related building systems.
  • Assist with research, concept development, and preparation of construction documents and specifications.
  • Generate accurate engineering reports and documentation related to materials, installations, and design specifications.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards for design, safety, and functionality.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze technical data to support design decisions and project execution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients throughout project lifecycles.
  • Assist in reviewing third‑party design documents and project plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant post‑education experience in electrical engineering design, preferably within building systems or consulting environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for building system design.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, higher education, commercial, or science & technology projects.
