Job summary

Stantec's Houston, TX office is seeking an Electrical Engineer to apply design principles and deliver projects that meet client expectations. You will lead electrical design on multiple projects, interpret codes, perform power distribution and lighting studies, and coordinate with architecture and other disciplines.

Responsibilities include managing scope, budget, staffing, and schedule; conducting field observations; and mentoring team members while advancing new electrical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; PE license preferred.
• 5+ years design experience in electrical design for buildings.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems.
• Experience with higher education, K-12, commercial and industrial sectors.
• Ability to apply sustainable design principles to projects.
• Familiarity with Revit and related design software.
• Licensure in Texas or ability to become licensed in TX.

Responsibilities

• Leads electrical design on multiple projects of varying complexity.
• Interprets drawings and codes to support design decisions.
• Performs power distribution and lighting studies with standard software.
• Coordinates project specs with construction documents.
• Collaborates with architecture, interior and other engineering teams.
• Assists with project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Performs field work and site observations as needed.
• Leads project coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
• Mentors team members and helps develop new standards.
