Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. at Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an Electrical Engineer 5 to lead the next-generation attack submarine electric plant design. You will act as primary technical liaison with the customer, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) and substantial exempt experience; advanced degrees are welcome. Travel up to 10% and relocation assistance are available to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 14+ years of relevant exempt experience; Master's degree reduces to 12 years; Ph.D. reduces to 9 years.
• Exposure to naval electric plant design standards (NAVSEA, MIL-STD, IEEE).

Responsabilités

• Lead the design of the next-generation electric propulsion plant for a naval submarine.
• Coordinate autonomously across disciplines and organizations; act as primary technical liaison with the customer.
• Mentor and develop internal engineers; inform management on budget, schedule, and material considerations.

Formation

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)

MS or PhD in Engineering

Experience in naval propulsion or electric plant design

14+ years exempt experience
