Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Newport News, VA, seeks an engineer to support the design, development, and integration of electrical and combat systems for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. The role validates requirements, manages interfaces, and ensures compliance with technical and performance standards.

The position is full-time, 1st shift with relocation assistance and travels 10%-25%. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and protection systems.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modelling tools.
Ability to read and understand system schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

Support the design and development of electrical and combat systems.
Establish system and subsystem design requirements from top-level specifications.
Manage system interfaces and ensure integrated functionality.
Develop and execute verification and validation procedures.
Identify, design, and integrate components and subsystems to meet performance requirements.
Lead or contribute to the creation of technical deliverables and reports.
Coordinate with design, test, and construction teams.
Support power generation and distribution system design and integration efforts.
