Job summary

Continental Electronics Corporation in Richardson, TX, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design new electronic products and support existing ones through production.

You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and sales; create schematics in AutoCAD, generate bills of materials, and prepare test procedures. Candidates should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or physics and 2+ years in electronic design; secrecy clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Minimum of 2 years in electronic design with circuit/assembly processes.
  • Experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in detailed product design of devices, components, or systems.
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing during pilot and first production runs.
  • Create and modify Schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Create and modify Part and Wire lists.
  • Prepare technical summary reports of performance.
  • Write manufacture and test procedures and reports.
  • Support bids and proposals with engineering input.

Overview

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design of new electronic products up to full production and technical support of electronic products currently in production. You will assist with specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, create simple mechanical designs, pre-production builds, documentation packages and transfers to production.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in the overall detailed product design of the assigned device, component or system
  • Recognizes design problems and errors and takes corrective action
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing during pilot run and first production runs to ensure an efficient transition from Engineering into Production
  • Create and modify Schematics in AutoCAD
  • Create and modify Part and Wire lists
  • Interfaces effectively with other organizations such as Purchasing, Marketing, Service and Quality Assurance as needed to carry out responsibilities
  • Prepares technical summary reports of performance
  • Monitors the progress of assigned devices, components or systems to ensure that technical problems are solved
  • Coordinates and performs field management assessments
  • Writes manufacture and test procedures and reports
  • Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products
  • Provides technical support to sales and marketing for bids and proposals

Qualifications
  • B. S. in Electrical Engineering or physics
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic design with electronic circuit technology assembly processes (analog, digital, RF and/or high voltage design) or an equivalent combination of relevant technical education and experience
  • Experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems
  • Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Competent in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • RF experience, High Power RF experience a plus
  • High Voltage Experience
  • Engineering circuit simulation/analysis program exposure
  • Occasional travel is anticipated
  • Active DoD issued Secret clearance
Benefits and compensation

Pay may range from $78,000 to $108,000 annually.

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP). OSI also offers comprehensive benefits including various options for health plans, access to 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs and an array of voluntary benefits.
