The Electrical Engineer will manage all aspects of engineering projects from feasibility study through detail design, procurement, construction, start-up and post startup optimization. Responsible for developing, planning, and managing, the scope, budget, schedule, and safe execution of successful projects associated with wood products manufacturing. Adjusts style and approach to establish productive relationships with a diverse group of customers, stake holders and cultures. Defines roles and responsibilities, directs, and leads project team members, contractors and consultants. Acts independently on technical matters related to engineering. Provides technical and supervisory expertise for capital projects. 30% travel annually to manufacturing locations.

- Develop, plan, and manage the scope, budget, schedule, and safe execution of successful projects associated with wood products manufacturing.
- Adjust style and approach to establish productive relationships with a diverse group of customers, stake holders and cultures.
- Define roles and responsibilities, direct, and lead project team members, contractors and consultants.
- Act independently on technical matters related to engineering.
- Provide technical and supervisory expertise for capital projects.

Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering required. M.S. is desirable.
Required Skills
- 480V power distribution design, secondary 480VAC transformer to motors.
- Established the motor list, PDC and related feeders (MCC feeders and utility panels), MCC motor/bucket arrangement, sized of VFD’s, brake resistors, and starters, MCC control components and E-net configuration, safety relay and LOTO architecture, field I/O configuration, grounding system design, and local disconnects.
- Directed designers/consultants to detail the drawings, including cable and conduit schedules, field configuration (conduit, tray, above ground, underground, and routing), as well as electrical room general arrangements.
- Autonomously established the concept/architecture best practices and the electrical “workmanship” trade and communicated/validated that to consultants so that these are captured on the drawings released for construction.
- Electrical system modelling using EasyPower to limit arc flash energy and to protect and coordinate 480 VAC electrical systems in a large industrial facility as well as experience installing and commissioning related hardware.
- Large project installation experience (ideally in the > $4 mm range) including hardware and electrical contractor work.
- Ability to perform arc flash and coordination studies of electrical systems.
- Emphasis in managing full spectrum of project activities required.
- Requires advanced level of understanding in project management systems and techniques.
- Requires knowledge of applicable governmental regulations, industry standards and codes particularly NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E, and property loss recommendations (Factory Mutual).
- MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, EasyPower.
