Job description

The Electrical Engineer plays a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems, control schematics, and power distribution components for medium-voltage pad-mounted enclosures and overhead equipment. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure that all electrical, protection, and control systems operate efficiently, safely, and integrate seamlessly with mechanical structures in compliance with industry standards. The role contributes to enhancing the production environment by utilizing technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The electrical engineer works closely with the cross-functional team to develop systems from conceptual stages through to factory implementation. The ideal candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and production goals. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.

Compensation

$93,000 - $100,000 yearly

Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in a power distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD
• SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical equipment and systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Analyze electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Direct and coordinate installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for new and existing products.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations to establish standards and specifications.
• Prepare specifications and detailed Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) for the procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
• Provide timely engineering and troubleshooting support to the factory floor for manufacturing issues, component defects, and new product launches.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and other departments to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems into manufacturing operations
• Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams, keeping stakeholders proactively informed using clear, positive communication.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all electrical system layouts
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement necessary engineering changes.
• Provide technical expertise and training to junior engineers and cross-functional team members on electrical systems and best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards, including but not limited to National Electrical Code (NEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Utility Electric Service Requirements (ESR), ANSI C37, IEEE C37.20.2, and UL/NEMA standards.
• Ability to promptly respond to and resolve customer technical issues, while actively seeking feedback to improve service.
• Excellent troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis, and analytical skills.
