Our client, a leading organization in the technology industry, is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Hardware Competitive Analysis Department supporting innovative platform hardware analysis and design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, collaborative spirit, and a passion for technological advancement, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

What’s the Job?
  • Analyze CPU, APU, and GPU printed circuit boards (PCBs) from various vendors and systems, including notebooks, PC motherboards, and GPU cards.
  • Identify electrical components and utilize reverse engineering techniques to understand board topology, architecture, power distribution, and key interfaces.
  • Collaborate with component engineers to create estimated Bill of Materials (BOM) files, identifying components with unclear traits and estimating costs using internal databases.
  • Engage with PCB delamination shops for stack-up analysis, focusing on high-speed interfaces and dielectric materials.
  • Conduct power instrumentation on boards to measure system efficiency, including incoming and output power across various ASIC rails.
What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in platform hardware design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in high-speed digital interfaces such as LPDDR, GDDR, PCIe, USB, DP, eDP, HDMI, SPI, and eSPI.
  • Experience working with complex PCB and system assemblies using FFC or custom cables and interfaces.
