Quality Engineer Leader in Seymour, Connecticut for a leading electronics manufacturer. You will lead the quality assurance effort, collaborate on the production floor with engineering and manufacturing to evaluate and resolve PCB and PCBA defects in real time, and ensure strict IPC-610 and IPC-6003 compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong SMT/PCB/PCBA expertise, hands-on experience on the production floor, and a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Qualifications

• Strong background in SMT, PCB, and PCBA processes; defect resolution experience.
• Experience on the production floor working with manufacturing and engineering teams.

As a Quality Engineer Leader, you will be an integral part of the quality assurance department supporting production and engineering teams. Pay Range:$160000 - $195,000

What's the Job?

• Hands-on collaboration with production and engineering teams to evaluate and resolve PCB and PCBA defects in real time.
• Serve as the expert in PCB and PCBA defect resolution, ensuring compliance with IPC-610 and IPC-6003 standards.
• Lead efforts to improve solder joint quality and overall product reliability through process evaluation and improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Document and communicate defect trends and corrective actions to ensure quality standards are maintained.

What's Needed?

• Must have a strong background in SMT, PCB, and PCBA processes, with direct experience in defect resolution.
• Deep understanding of PCB chemistry and manufacturing processes, not related to design.
• Experience working on the production floor, working directly with manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Proficiency in IPC-610 and IPC-6003 standards and their application in quality control.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field.
