Job summary

Eastman is seeking an electrical engineer to support ongoing plant operations, troubleshoot equipment, and lead the design of electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. You will review drawings, apply NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE standards, and participate in MOC-driven projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 1+ year in manufacturing, ideally with chemical industry experience. Strong communication, initiative, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 1 year electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical or petrochemical preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards in chemical industry preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting instruments, controllers, PLCs and DeltaV DCS preferred.
• Experience with SAP Maintenance preferred.
• Experience with OSHA PSM preferred.
• Strong communication and technical skills.
• High degree of initiative.
• Ability to contribute individually and as a leader in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and electricians during plant operations including troubleshooting and equipment repairs.
• Lead design and selection of electrical equipment considering safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Apply industry codes and standards relevant to the chemical industry (NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE) in design and evaluation of electrical systems.
• Implement projects and process changes following Management of Change procedures.
• Provide training on processes and changes to all levels within the department.
• Provide on-call process operations support coverage on a rotating basis.

• Lead the design and selection of electrical equipment considering factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations
• Apply industry codes and standards relevant to the chemical industry, such as NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes, in the design and evaluation of electrical systems and equipment
• Implement projects and process changes following Management of Change procedures
• Provide training on processes, process controls and changes to all levels within the department
• Provide on-call process operations support coverage on a rotating basis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in ElectricalEngineering required
• At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience in chemical or petrochemical industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Electrical Engineering in the chemical industry preferred
• Experience troubleshooting instruments, controllers, PLCs and DeltaV DCS preferred
• Experience with SAP Maintenance preferred
• Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred
• Strong communication and technical skills
• High degree of initiative
• Ability to contribute individually and as a leader in a team environment

The base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $126,500.
