Job summary

Eastman in Kingsport, TN seeks an Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 1+ year of manufacturing experience to design and evaluate electrical systems, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will lead equipment selection, develop drawings and specifications, and support turnarounds while coordinating with operations, maintenance, and other engineering teams. A strong communicator with initiative will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required; chemical/petrochemical preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Electrical Engineering in the chemical industry preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting instruments, controllers, PLCs and DeltaV DCS preferred.
• Experience with SAP Maintenance preferred; OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred.
• Strong communication and technical skills; high degree of initiative; able to contribute individually and as a leader in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and electricians during plant operations including troubleshooting, equipment repairs and major turnarounds.
• Lead the design and selection of electrical equipment considering safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and documents ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Apply industry codes and standards relevant to chemical industry (NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE) in design and evaluation of electrical systems.
• Implement projects following Management of Change procedures.
• Provide training on processes, process controls and changes to all levels within the department.
• Provide on-call process operations support coverage on a rotating basis.

The base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $126,500.
