We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong hands-on experience in electrical hardware and power system design. This role will focus on electrical schematic design, high-power electrical panel design, VFD applications, electric heating systems, component selection, and system integration.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, power distribution, protection, VFDs, heating control, and UL requirements, and is comfortable taking a design from schematic development through wiring, power-up, testing, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical circuits, control panels, and power distribution systems for industrial equipment and test systems.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Design and support high-power electrical panels, including power distribution, circuit protection, grounding, disconnects, contactors, relays, and related components.
- Select and integrate Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for pumps, motors, and other equipment.
- Design and integrate electric heating systems, including heaters, power controllers, contactors, SSR/SCR devices, temperature protection, and associated power circuits.
- Perform electrical load calculations and properly size breakers, fuses, conductors, contactors, power supplies, and other electrical components.
- Ensure designs follow applicable UL standards, electrical codes, and safety requirements.
- Support panel assembly, wiring review, system power-up, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with mechanical and test engineers to complete system-level design and integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant electrical design or hardware engineering experience.
- Experience creating electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, DraftSight, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of AC power systems, three-phase power, electrical protection, grounding, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with high-power electrical panel design and component sizing.
- Experience selecting, configuring, or integrating VFDs.
- Familiarity with electric heaters and electrical heating control systems.
- Familiarity with UL standards and electrical safety requirements.
- Strong hands‑on skills with electrical wiring, multimeters, electrical testing, debugging, and system bring‑up.
Preferred Experience
- 208 V / 240 V / 480 V three-phase electrical systems
- High-power test equipment or industrial machinery
- VFD-driven pumps, fans, or motors
- Electrical panel fabrication and commissioning
- UL 508A or related UL standards
- HVAC, thermal management, liquid cooling, or test equipment
What We Value
- Strong hands‑on electrical experience, not only theoretical design knowledge.
- Ability to independently create and review electrical schematics and select appropriate components.
- Understanding of practical considerations such as wire sizing, protection, heat generation, grounding, panel layout, and installation.
- Comfort troubleshooting electrical systems during assembly and commissioning.
- Ability to take ownership of a project from electrical design through build, power‑up, and validation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn new electrical hardware and technologies.
