Responsibilities

• Perform detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater facilities with minimal supervision.

• Design conduit routing, MCCs, switchgear, and related electrical systems.
• Prepare electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Support field investigations, equipment evaluations, and startup activities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Apply electrical codes, standards, and best practices throughout the design process.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical power systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong power systems expertise who enjoys working on complex infrastructure projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical system design, power calculations, field investigations, and project start-up activities, along with a strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater treatment facilities with minimal supervision.
• Develop electrical designs and engineering documentation in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit analysis, and other power system studies.
• Design and develop detailed conduit routing, motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and related electrical systems.
• Prepare electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Support field investigations, equipment evaluations, and project start-up/commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and best practices throughout the design process.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6-12 years of professional Electrical Engineering experience.
• Active PE (Professional Engineer) registration required.
• Experience designing electrical power systems, preferably for water/wastewater treatment or other industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of power system applications, including:
• Harmonic distortion
• Power factor
• Field investigation and project start-up/commissioning experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 820, and NESC.
• Familiarity with the IEEE Color Books and applicable electrical engineering standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Background
