Job summary

RCM Energy Services in Montvale, NJ is seeking Electrical Engineers at levels I through Principal to deliver design, analysis, and project execution for energy and critical infrastructure projects. You will work with clients and multi-disciplinary teams on a diverse portfolio, from concept through commissioning, with exposure to substations, BESS, LNG, and renewable facilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering design from concept through detailed design and commissioning.
  • Prepare calculations, studies, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
  • Conduct power system studies: load flow, short circuit, grounding, arc flash, protection coordination.
  • Conduct site investigations and coordinate with clients, vendors, and teams.
  • Support proposal preparation, technical presentations, and business development.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering design from conceptual development through detailed design, construction support, testing, and commissioning.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, studies, specifications, technical reports, and construction documents.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, plans, equipment layouts, and construction packages.
  • Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, grounding, arc flash, and protective device coordination analyses.
  • Conduct field walks, site investigations, equipment assessments, and engineering evaluations at client facilities.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Support proposal preparation, technical presentations, and business development activities.
  • Travel as required to support meetings, field investigations, construction activities, startup, and commissioning.
Qualifications

Seeking candidates from Electrical Engineer I through Principal Electrical Engineer levels.

Qualifications vary based on the position level being filled. Candidates will be considered for the position that best aligns with their experience, technical capabilities, professional registrations, and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a design engineering, consulting engineering, utility engineering, industrial engineering, or closely related technical role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Willingness to perform field walks, site investigations, and engineering evaluations at client facilities.
  • Ability to travel periodically in support of project meetings, field investigations, construction support, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License strongly preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is highly desirable for early-career candidates.
  • Additional certifications such as PMP, PMI-related credentials, NFPA certifications, or other relevant industry certifications are considered a plus.
