• Implement ATCE quality assurance procedures in the design process.

Job description

• Perform electrical design utilizing the latest engineering software
• Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews and ensure accurate, timely responses to RFIs
• Document changes and clarifications to scope, schedule, and budget and advise the project team
• Review data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for senior engineers and/or managers
• Write technical reports documenting engineering analysis and findings
• Conduct feasibility studies for proposed electrical equipment and systems
• Assist senior engineers in reviewing electrical designs, development plans, and cost estimates
• Evaluate electrical engineering solutions, equipment, and specifications
• Act as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to projects
• Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines and receive direction from project leads
• Attend and actively participate in design and construction project team meetings
• Implement ATCE quality assurance procedures during the electrical design process
• Propose innovative solutions to design problems
• Perform voltage drop, short-circuit, breaker coordination, and Arc Flash studies
• Edit standard material and construction specifications to match project requirements
• Implement electrical design in a BIM environment
• Serve as a field engineer during construction by performing site visits and preparing written observation reports when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–6 years of design experience for consulting engineer or design-build contractor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines
• General understanding of contract and construction documents
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and other engineering analysis and compliance software tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) Certification, preferred
• LEED Accreditation
• Strong knowledge of state and local Building Codes and NEC
• Proficient in Revit and BIM 360
