Job summary

AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical Design team in Middletown, CT, supporting the surrounding region.

This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized electrical design engineering professional with project management experience to support the design and production plans on state and municipal projects. AIE offers a comprehensive compensation/benefits package including company-paid HSA contributions, 401k match, PTO, ESOP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
  • E.I.T. or P.E. License, or ability to obtain (preferred).
  • 3+ years of technical experience in electrical design.
  • If no degree, 5+ years of work experience in consulting engineering industry.
  • Knowledge of Codes used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Design of normal and emergency power distribution, lighting, lighting control systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Draft layout and design of electrical systems, with minimal supervision
  • Have understanding and knowledge of Codes used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.)
  • Regularly perform electrical engineering calculations.
  • Design electrical systems from concept to completion.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, where REVIT and MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Independently perform site visits as needed

This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized electrical design engineering professional with project management experience to support the design and production plans on state and municipal projects. Skills & Abilities:
  • A self-starter with the ability to support project teams and manage multiple and concurrent projects/assignments
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to support multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex design projects for clients in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region
  • Must be proficient and have experience in electrical design and analysis as well as development of final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding the variety of project delivery methods and direct experience in Design-Build projects
  • Ability and willingness to travel to work sites.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiations and decision-making skills.
  • Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
