Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our multidisciplinary team and help deliver energy-efficient, high-performance electrical systems for complex projects.

You will work under experienced engineers, perform load calculations, sizing, equipment selection, field surveys, and review shop drawings, with opportunities to lead project teams, write specs, and collaborate with clients and consultants during construction.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree required (BSEE/BSAE).
  • Minimum of 3 years electrical engineering experience with a strong grasp of design processes.
  • EIT certification a plus; experience with engineering design software preferred (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks).

Responsibilities

  • Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, and select equipment.
  • Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
  • As you gain project experience, lead electrical project teams, write specifications, and participate in client/consultant meetings; support construction-phase work.

As an Electrical Engineer II in our Overland Park, KS office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Here’s why we need you:

In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers and will yourself help to mentor designers. Your initial assignments will include performing load calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, calculating equipment sizes, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and reviewing equipment shop drawings. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading electrical project teams, writing specifications, participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and supporting construction-phase work.

Expertise of our most successful Electrical Engineer I:
  • BSEE/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
