Job summary

Banda Group International seeks an Electrical Engineer in Los Alamos, NM to support facility design, operation, maintenance, construction, and field activities in a fast-paced environment. You will bring hands-on electrical power design experience with low-voltage systems below 480V and contribute to construction documentation and design packages.

Responsibilities include developing design packages, reviewing specs, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in facility design, construction, operation, or maintenance.
  • Experience developing construction documents and engineering design packages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering design, analysis, calculations, and evaluations for facility projects.
  • Develop and support complete design packages, including drawings, specs, and construction docs.
  • Design and support low-voltage power systems, including 208/120V, 480V and below.
  • Provide field, construction, and project engineering support and resolve field conditions.
  • Apply NEC, NFPA, IBC, and DOE/DoD related codes and standards.
  • Coordinate system integration across disciplines and with stakeholders.
  • Use CAD/drafting tools to develop, review, and communicate changes.
  • Work independently and with engineers, technicians, and project teams.
  • Continuously improve processes to meet quality, schedule, and customer needs.

The Electrical Engineer will support facility design, operation, maintenance, construction, and field activities in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical power design experience, particularly with low-voltage systems below 480V, and is comfortable developing construction documentation, specifications, and complete engineering design packages.

  • Perform electrical engineering design, analysis,calculations, and technical evaluations in support of facility projects.
  • Develop, review, and support completeengineering design packages, including drawings, specifications, calculations,and construction documentation.
  • Design and support low-voltage power systems,with emphasis on common 480V-and-below applications, including 208V and 120Vsystems.
  • Provide construction, field, and projectengineering support, including resolving field conditions and supportingimplementation of design requirements.
  • Apply applicable industry, regulatory, DOE/NNSA,and site-specific codes, standards, and engineering criteria.
  • Coordinate system integration within and acrossengineering disciplines and interface with project stakeholders.
  • Use computer-aided design/drafting software andelectronic markup tools to develop, review, and communicate engineeringchanges.
  • Work independently while collaboratingeffectively with engineers, technicians, construction personnel, and projectteams.
  • Continuously improve engineering work processesto support quality, schedule, and customer needs.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering froman ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant electricalengineering experience aligned with facility design, construction, operation,or maintenance.
  • Demonstrated electrical power design experience,preferably involving low-voltage systems below 480V, including 208V and 120V applications.
  • Experience developing construction documents,technical specifications, and engineering design packages.
  • Experience supporting field implementation andresolving or mitigating field conditions that affect design or construction.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry andregulatory codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and NQA-1 as relevantto DOE/DoD facilities.
  • Familiarity with typical engineeringdeliverables and configuration-controlled design documentation.
  • Experience using CAD/drafting software and/orelectronic drawing markup tools.
  • Ability to work effectively both independentlyand within a multi-discipline engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting DOE, NNSA, DoD,national laboratory, nuclear, or other highly regulated facilities.
  • Experience with electrical controls or controlsystems.
  • Experience providing construction or fieldengineering support through installation, testing, commissioning, or designchange resolution.
  • DOE Q clearance or prior experience working in acleared environment.
Clearance Requirements

This positionrequires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance. U.S.Citizenship is required, with very limited exceptions, and candidates must beat least 18 years of age.
