Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a leading global infrastructure developer to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects across the United States. You will lead electrical design, specification, and delivery from concept through construction, ensuring performance, quality, budget, and timeline targets are met.

The role demands strong collaboration with development, project teams, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• 10+ years in electrical/building services design for data centers.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and BOD design.
• Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of electrical protection and grading studies.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and vendors.
• Experience in hyperscale or colocation environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams with RFPs, RFIs, and technical submissions.
• Lead electrical design delivery from concept through to construction.
• Review contractor designs to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances.
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment aligned to client requirements.
• Provide technical oversight throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with performance standards and project specifications.
• Contribute to optimisation, efficiency, and continuous improvement post-delivery.
• Manage design coordination, approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support feasibility and due diligence for new developments.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

About You

• Experience leading projects across RFQ/RFP processes and multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of electrical protection and grading studies
• Proven experience managing contractors, consultants, and vendor relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Experience with hyperscale or colocation environments is highly desirable
