Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to lead electrical building systems design projects from early design through construction. You will interact with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams, taking on increasing project ownership and leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical building systems design experience, strong communication skills, and a background in MEP consulting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4+ years of electrical building systems design experience.
  • Experience in an MEP consulting environment preferred.
  • Experience managing project tasks, schedules, or smaller projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical engineering tasks and smaller to mid-sized projects.
  • Support project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Lighting and lighting controls.
  • Emergency and standby power.
  • Low-voltage and specialty systems.
  • Prepare and review construction documents; coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
  • Perform site surveys and construction observations.
  • Assist with proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations.
  • Guide junior engineers and designers on technical tasks.

Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to join a growing MEP consulting team. This role is a good fit for an engineer who has solid building systems design experience and is ready to take on more project ownership, client interaction, and team coordination.

You will support electrical projects from early design through construction while working with senior leadership, clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.

  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and construction practices
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • EIT preferred
  • PE license is a plus, but not required
Preferred Experience
  • Commercial, healthcare, higher education, laboratory, mission critical, mixed-use, or institutional projects
  • Client-facing or proposal experience
Software
  • Revit MEP
  • AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Office
  • SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or similar software is a plus
