Job summary

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with Data Center experience to lead the design and development of modular electrical systems for next-generation data center infrastructure.

You will design complete electrical systems, size and specify critical equipment, and collaborate with design teams to deliver NEC/NFPA/IEC‑compliant solutions from concept through field installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5-8 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Experience with Data Center projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems and modular construction.
• Familiar with NEC/NFPA/IEC electrical codes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design complete electrical systems, including one-line diagrams, BOMs and schematics.
• Serve as Electrical SME on modular data center projects.
• Size and specify switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, ATS, UPS systems, cable trays and conduit.
• Collaborate with Design teams using AutoCAD, Revit and SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IEC and applicable electrical codes.
• Support production, field installation and inspections.

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with Data Center experience to lead the design and development of modular electrical systems supporting next-generation data center infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects involving power distribution, modular skids, and critical facility design from concept through manufacturing and field installation.

What You'll Do

• Design complete electrical systems, including one-line diagrams, point-to-point schematics, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Serve as the Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on modular data center projects
• Size and specify switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, ATS, UPS systems, conduit, cable, and motor-operated equipment
• Partner with Design teams utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks
• Review technical specifications and develop innovative electrical design solutions
• Support production, fabrication, quality inspections, and field installation
• Assist with estimating, bid tabulations, and proposal development
• Develop electrical documentation, O&M manuals, and manufacturing packages
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Controls, Project Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Service teams
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IEC, and applicable electrical codes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Controls Engineering experience may be considered)
• 5-8 years of Electrical Engineering experience
• Required experience supporting Data Center projects
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems and modular construction
• Experience with:
• Switchgear
• Panelboards
• ATS & UPS Systems
• MCCs
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Cable trays, conduit, and electrical commodities
• Ability to perform electrical calculations, including fault analysis
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable supporting both office engineering and production floor activities

Preferred Qualifications

• PE License or EIT/FE certification
• Industrial HVAC, ESCO, or Central Utility Plant experience
• AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks proficiency
• Controls, PLC, DCS, or SCADA experience
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards
• Manufacturing or field engineering experience
