Job summary

Selectek is seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer in Houston, Texas. This direct hire position includes opportunities for growth and ownership in an expanding MEP firm. Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least four years of MEP experience.

The ideal candidate must possess a Professional Engineer license and demonstrate expertise in various electrical systems including lighting, fire alarm, and power distribution. Excellent benefits and competitive pay are offered as part of this role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in MEP.
• Experience in performing engineering calculations.
• Ability to conduct field work and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve shop drawings and construction documents.
• Mentor interns and assist in the development of electrical systems.
• Seal final contract documents as assigned.

Skills

Expert knowledge of all required building codes

Proficient in AutoCAD

Proficient in Revit

Ability to design and manage multiple projects

Strong mentorship skills

Job description

Selectek has partnered with a growing MEP firm in Plano Texas. A Licensed Electrical Engineer is needed for a direct hire position, with growth/ownership opportunities.

Must Haves:

• BS Electrical Engineering with 4 plus years of experience in MEP
• Professional Engineer
• Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles
• AutoCAD and Revit drawings
• Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project with no supervision
• Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents as assigned for electrical-related items with no supervision
• Conduct field work and complete field reports on electrical-related items to verify design with no supervision
• Supervise and mentor interns, designers and EITs in the development of electrical systems for client projects
• Seal final contract documents as assigned
• Expert knowledge of all required building codes
• Expert knowledge of client design standards
• Proficient in lighting and lighting controls
• Proficient in fire alarm systems
• Proficient in power and power distribution systems, including emergency power
• Proficient in technology systems
• Ability to design and manage multiple projects from start to finish with no supervision
