Job summary

TechStar Group in Kentucky is seeking a Project Engineer for a 12-month contract with extension possibilities. The role supports electrical power distribution design, project coordination, and field supervision across green-field or brown-field sites.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, ensuring code compliance, coordinating with trades and manufacturers, and developing countermeasures to avoid delays. Travel up to 15% to Canada/Mexico for training and meetings.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in project management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• 2+ years in technical drawing.
• 2+ years in industrial power distribution/system design.

Responsibilities

• Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule and budget.
• Create scope of work, bid package and project specifications.
• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, negotiate changes.
• Evaluate electrical power systems and safety compliance to codes.
• Collaborate with 3rd party Safety Compliance Contractors.
• Coordinate installation with trades, engineers and equipment manufacturers.
• Develop countermeasures for project delays to meet milestones.

Job description

12 months contract with the possibility of extension.

Standard 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST

Overtime: 10% during weekdays, weekends, shutdown, holidays and odd hours.

15% travel (would be ready to travel after one month once joining internationally to Canada and Mexico for training and meetings)

Interview Process: 2 Rounds Interview : STAR/Video interview via MS Teams for 60 minutes

Description

• Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule and budget
• Create scope of work, bid package and project specifications
• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, negotiate changes
• Evaluate electrical power systems
• Evaluate electrical and safety compliance to local and national codes
• Collaborate with 3rd party Safety Compliance Contractors
• Evaluate Power distribution/breaker size/Amp draw/SCCR/Panel Loading
• Specify/Confirm electrical components for industrial equipment
• Collaborate with multiple groups to design and install equipment and meet project milestones
• Supervise contractors in a green-field or brown-field work environment
• Coordinate installation with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers and equipment manufacturers
• Develop countermeasures for project delays for timely project completion

Required experience/skill:

• BS In Engineering, Technical Trader Certification, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years manufacturing environment
• 3+ years project management
• Microsoft Office Software proficient
• 2+ years Technical Drawing experience
• 2+ years Industrial Power Distribution/System Design

Preferred:

• BSEE
• Automotive paint process experience
• Ability to understand and calculate utility cost
• Understanding of PLC operation & programming (Toyopuc, Omron, Allen-Bradley)
• Understanding of PLC communication (FLNet, EtherNet)
