Job summary

Exemplar Global in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead electrical design on commercial and institutional projects. This hybrid role requires one in-office day per week, with four days remote, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with architects, MEPS, and clients.

You will design power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems, oversee QA/QC, and drive projects from design through construction for award-winning buildings.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in good standing.
• Extensive experience in commercial building design.

Pay: $140,000 per year (approximate base, depending on experience)

Description

Work from home four days a week and still lead electrical design on real buildings. Wednesday is your only required office day. You’d join an established, award-winning MEP consulting firm in Charlotte, leading design on commercial and institutional projects and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

What you’ll do

• Lead electrical design for commercial and institutional buildings
• Design power distribution, lighting and fire alarm systems
• Run QA/QC and manage projects from design through construction
• Mentor junior engineers and designers
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers, contractors and clients

What you bring

• Active PE license
• 10+ years in commercial building design (less experience considered with strong technical skills)
• Most of your experience at U.S. MEP consulting firms working with architects
• AutoCAD and Revit
• Solid command of electrical codes and a stable, long-term work history

Nice to have: healthcare projects, telecom/data design (RCDD), leading multidisciplinary teams.
