Job summary

Strativ Group in Austin, TX is seeking Electrical & Embedded Firmware Engineers for defense technology initiatives. You will develop firmware for DC-DC converters, motor drives, and power-management systems, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams.

Roles range from engineer to engineering manager, offering hands-on leadership in schematics, PCB layout, and delivering high‑reliability hardware from prototype through deployment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with embedded systems experience.
• Experience with STM32, TI C2000 or similar MCUs.
• Real-time control: PID, PWM, FOC; RTOS or bare-metal development.
• Defense, aerospace or high-reliability hardware background a plus.

Electrical & Embedded Firmware Engineers – Defense Technology

We're partnering with a rapidly scaling defense technology company in Austin that's building advanced autonomous hardware systems.

Following significant recent investment, the team is expanding its electrical and embedded engineering capability and is looking to speak with engineers across power electronics, motor control, embedded firmware and electrical hardware leadership.

The Opportunities

Depending on your background, you could be working across:

• Digital Power Electronics Firmware — developing embedded firmware and digital control for DC-DC converters, inverters and power-management systems.
• Motor Drive Firmware — developing real-time embedded software for high-performance BLDC/PMSM motor control and precision motion systems.
• Electrical Engineering Leadership — leading and developing an EE team while remaining hands-on across schematic design, PCB development, power electronics and embedded hardware.

We're Interested in Engineers With Experience Across

Embedded & Controls

C/C++, embedded systems, STM32, TI C2000 or similar microcontrollers, real-time control, PID, PWM, FOC, RTOS or bare-metal development.

Power & Motor Systems

DC-DC converters, inverters, power supplies, battery systems, power management, BLDC/PMSM motors, motor drives or high-efficiency power conversion.

Electrical Hardware

Schematic capture, PCB design/layout, Altium or similar tools, board bring-up, debugging, testing and taking hardware from prototype through production/deployment.

Engineering Leadership

For senior leadership candidates, we're looking for experience directly managing and mentoring electrical engineers while maintaining strong hands-on technical involvement.

Experience within defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, automotive/EV or other high-reliability hardware environments is particularly relevant.
