Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking an Engineer II for a utility client in San Clemente, CA. This contract role supports electric distribution reliability by evaluating circuits with high SAIDI/CAIDI, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing projects to enhance distribution service reliability.

The position requires ABET-accredited engineering education, 1.5+ years of engineering experience, and knowledge of electrical distribution systems.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• 1.5+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and utility engineering principles.
• Experience with power system studies and analysis.
• Ability to analyze data, perform calculations and make recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate high SAIDI/CAIDI distribution circuits to identify reliability concerns and improvement opportunities
• Develop and present engineering project proposals to the reliability team
• Perform power system studies, engineering calculations, technical analysis, and design activities
• Prepare engineering designs, specifications, standards, studies, cost estimates, and recommendations
• Coordinate small engineering projects including scope, scheduling and budgeting
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and other departments to execute projects
• Interpret and apply company standards, regulatory requirements, and codes
