Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minneapolis, MN is offering a paid internship with the Electric Distribution Area Engineering Organization. Interns will assist in root cause analysis, support technical reports, and gain knowledge of the distribution system to see real-world solutions benefit the community.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy

Responsibilities

• Assist in outage investigations
• Contribute to technical reports
• Learn how electricity is delivered
• Assist with protection and coordination studies
