Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects by designing overhead and underground systems and assisting with upgrades. You’ll use GIS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and related tools to produce reliable design packages.

Work with project teams, communicate scope, schedule, and budget, and contribute to fielding activities on modernizing the grid. A Bachelor's in engineering and 1–2 years of electrical distribution design experience are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 1–2 years of electrical distribution design experience.
• Preferred software knowledge includes GIS, pole modeling tools (O-Calc, PoleForeman, Katapult), AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.
• Client-facing experience / construction support.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to develop designs that meet project specs and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations and drawings.
• Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger projects.
• Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with analyses on complex work.
• Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
• Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.
• Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.
• Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.
• Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
