Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects by designing reliable overhead and underground systems and assisting with upgrades. You will collaborate with Designers to prepare design packages, perform calculations, and produce drawings using CAD and analysis software in conformance with project specifications and industry standards.

Location-based candidates in the Northeast are preferred; related experience and strong technical

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 1–2 years electrical distribution design experience.
• Familiarity with GIS and pole modeling tools (O-Calc, PoleForeman, Katapult).
• Client-facing experience / construction support.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to develop designs meeting project specs and standards.
• Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations and drawings.
• Support preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger projects.
• Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with analyses on complex work.
• Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
• Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and managers.
• Interact with clients on a limited basis and maintain professional communication.
• Conduct self-reviews and participate in quality control reviews for accuracy.
• Support fielding activities and other related duties as assigned.

Design Engineer II (Electric Distribution)

We're seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects by designing reliable overhead and underground distribution systems and assisting with major utility upgrades. Experience with GIS, pole modeling, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and related design tools preferred. Make an impact on critical infrastructure.

Location Requirement: Candidates must be located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut.

What You’ll Do:

Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings.

Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects.

Lead discipline‑specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work.

Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.

Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.

Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.

Conduct self‑reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.

Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
• 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
• Preferred software knowledge includes GIS, pole modeling tools (O-Calc, PoleForeman, Katapult), AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.
• Client Facing Experience / construction support.
