Job summary

SSOE is seeking an Electrical Designer in Hillsboro, OR to develop electrical designs for tool hookups, power distribution, cleanroom environments, and facility upgrades. You will focus on low to medium voltage projects, perform short circuit and voltage drop analyses, and ensure designs meet NEC and NFPA standards.

You will work with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, scalable, and compliant electrical solutions for cutting-edge semiconductor facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and EasyPower are a plus.
• Ability to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams and construction documents.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA).

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings and documentation for tool installations, power distribution, cleanroom environments, and facility upgrades.
• Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing based on loads and environment.
• Assess cable tray fills for proper management and future scalability.
• Perform short circuit calculations to select protective devices and ensure safety.
• Perform voltage drop calculations for system stability and compliance.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Apply design techniques and maintain quality standards; collaborate with Designers, Sr. Engineers, PMs, and stakeholders.
• Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize efficiency and quality.
