Job summary

PEAK Technical Services Inc. seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design electrical and control systems for automated polyurethane manufacturing.

You will collaborate with PMs and sales to define project specs and ensure compliance with electrical codes while advancing PLC and HMI knowledge. Responsibilities include creating drawings, BOMs, cabinet layouts, wiring diagrams, and integrating encoders, sensors, and networks.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's in engineering/CAD or related experience.
Advanced knowledge of electrical currents, power, and automated control systems.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor (preferred) and AutoCAD 2D.
Strong familiarity with electrical codes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Interface with PMs and sales to determine project specs.
Analyze specs to design control systems for machines.
Produce design drawings, BOMs, cabinet layouts, and wiring.
Collaborate with control engineers to meet programming needs.
Ensure designs comply with UL, NFPA, NEC, and applicable codes.
Stay current on PLCs and touch screen panels; use customer components when needed.
Modify existing controls without disrupting function and maintain safety.
Travel to customer sites to collect design information as needed.
Design controls for hazardous area classifications and safety.
Understand OSHA/local requirements for operator/machine safety.
Maintain 2D CAD knowledge; work with AutoCAD/Inventor.
Research electrical codes across locations (Mexico/Canada).
