Job summary

Dexian is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to design electrical controls for industrial machinery, develop BOMs, and program PLCs/HMIs using AutoCAD Electrical. The role entails FAT, commissioning, and collaboration across multiple teams to ensure compliance with NEC and UL-508 standards.

Ideal candidates will have ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering, hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs, and strong skills in diagnostics, testing, and customer training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
  • Strong experience designing electrical controls for industrial machinery and automation.
  • Expertise in PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, instrumentation, and industrial control panels.
  • Advanced experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, soft starts, motion control, and servo systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and UL-508.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience with FAT, troubleshooting, commissioning, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs, schematics, and control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Select electrical components and create accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Program Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs and develop intuitive operator interfaces.
  • Develop and execute Functional and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize industrial automation and control systems.
  • Support fabrication, assembly, startup, and customer commissioning.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and provide technical solutions.
  • Train customers and internal teams on equipment operation.
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, UL-508, and applicable industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Mechanical Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, Assembly, Project Management, and Field Service teams.
  • Travel approximately 10% for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.

What We’re Looking For
