Job summary

HFA seeks an Electrical Designer II to own projects from construction documents to NEC-compliant lighting design within commercial buildings. You will collaborate with engineers and design leads to deliver high-quality building systems, using Revit and AutoCAD, and interface with architects and clients.

As part of our employee-owned firm, you’ll contribute to design quality, participate in reviews, and grow your expertise in power and lighting design through mentorship, stipends, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience drafting construction documents per NEC and national codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Ability to perform photometric calculations and lighting design.
• Create 1-line diagrams and fault current calculations.
• Edit specs for small to medium projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and draft construction documents with Electrical Engineer or lead.
• Independently develop, implement, and draft docs for most project types.
• Apply NEC and national standards with oversight.
• Perform energy code considerations for power and lighting.
• Produce 1-line diagrams and perform fault current calculations.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on CD development.
• Manage project budgets and contribute to financial success.
• Train new staff on company standards and NEC requirements.
