Job summary

Trane Technologies in Clarksville, TN is seeking an Electrical Designer II to create 3D and 2D graphics for control projects. You will work under a Lead Digital Designer, applying CAD tools to develop designs, documentation, and bills of materials while collaborating with engineers and field teams.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Design or Engineering Technology or 4+ years CAD experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Pro Engineer or CAD/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
  • Documentation of parts and bills of materials.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes.
  • Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
  • Lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments and error correction.
  • Maintain competency of CAD systems through training and materials.
  • Adhere to company safety and security policies.

Where Is The Work

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

This Electrical Designer II plays a pivotal role in creating visually stunning 3D and 2D graphics for control projects submitted by our Trane Commercial Field Sales & Service Offices. By leveraging their expertise in digital tools, they help bring our projects to life! While reporting to a Lead Digital Designer, they may also have the opportunity to work within a dynamic sub team led by a Senior Digital Designer.

What You Will Do
  • Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
  • Documentation of parts and bills of materials.
  • Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes.
  • Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
  • Lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments. Exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems. Detects and corrects own errors.
  • Maintains competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
  • Maintains awareness and adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
  • Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from Engineers or senior staff. Work direction, content and accuracy reviewed by engineers or senior department members.
What You Will Bring
  • Associate’s Degree in Design or Engineering Technology (or related discipline) is required; OR at least 4-years of work experience using computer aided graphic solutions will be considered in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
  • Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Pro Engineer or CAD/AutoCAD.

$58,045.00 - $80,640.00
