Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a drafting professional to join a multi-disciplinary team. You will refine design drawings from input data, apply 3D CAD skills, and help model installations and relationships to existing facilities with precise specs.

The role supports hybrid work arrangements, enabling a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work. Training in 3D environments is provided, with opportunities to engage with clients and vendors to refine designs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in drafting or technical area, or high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience.
• Advanced drafting experience using standard CAD tools (i.e., MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD assistance.
• Knowledge of MicroStation.
• Ability to multi-task across projects.

Responsibilities

• Utilize drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings from inputs.
• Apply CAD skills and receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments.
• Create master sketches to scale showing installation relations to existing facilities with exact specs.
• Assist experienced designers on client walkdowns to gather information for designs.
• Explain drawings to vendors/contractors to enable appropriate design adjustments.
