Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer, Distribution to strengthen our Energy team in the Pacific Northwest.

The role supports overhead and underground distribution projects for utility clients, under engineers and designers who mentor early-career professionals. Ideal candidates bring 1–4 years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, and a solid foundation in electrical engineering concepts.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of professional experience supporting electric utility or distribution projects.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Working knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and design practices.
• Interest in pursuing a PE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and development of overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Prepare engineering plans, drawings, specs, and project documents.
• Perform engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs.
• Support field investigations, site visits, and data collection.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, designers, and clients to deliver solutions.
• Assist in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop technical expertise through mentorship and hands-on project experience.
