Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer, Distribution to join our Power Delivery team in the Pacific Northwest.

You will design overhead and underground distribution systems for utility clients, under guidance from experienced engineers, and contribute to project documentation, calculations, and field support. The role offers collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment, exposure to utility standards, and opportunities for professional certification.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience supporting electric utility, power delivery, or electrical distribution projects.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and design practices.
• Interest in developing a career in this field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel periodically for field assignments and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Prepare engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and supporting project documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs.
• Support field investigations, site visits, and data collection activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and utility clients to deliver high-quality project solutions.
• Assist in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop technical expertise through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience.
