Job summary

Harriman Associates invites a qualified individual to join our firm as a licensed Electrical Designer in Portland, Maine. This role emphasizes collaboration with internal architectural and engineering studios to develop efficient, coordinated electrical designs for diverse project types.

You will work under a licensed engineer, perform calculations, equipment selections, and apply code requirements while advancing from guided tasks to independent small projects within a team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Undergraduate Degree (2 years minimum) in Electrical Engineering.
• Familiar with the basic structure of an engineering project and its elements.
• Proficient with Revit and PDF editing software.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a licensed engineer to learn all aspects of electrical design.
• Perform calculations, equipment selection, and code-based tasks on proposed plans.
• Take on tasks with less specific instruction and complete small projects independently.
• Complete small projects or portions of larger projects with review by a licensed engineer.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Project Assistant, and licensed engineer to ensure project success.
• Visit existing structures to determine applicable conditions.
