Job summary

Mission Critical Group (MCG) is seeking an Electrical Designer to support development and execution of electrical systems for manufacturing operations. You will create electrical design packages, select components, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs move from concept to production.

The role focuses on low voltage switchgear, panel layouts, schematics, BOMs, and documentation, under supervision of electrical engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical drafting/design experience, preferably with switchgear.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical; experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Strong schematic, panel layout, wiring diagram, and BOM experience.
• Experience with UL891 / UL1558 is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for low voltage switchgear assemblies and related equipment.
• Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and wire lists.
• Adhere to design processes and documentation to improve quality and efficiency.
• Support ECOs and revise designs for manufacturability and cost.
• Maintain version control and project documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Electrical Designer is responsible for supporting the development and execution of electrical systems and control panel designs for our manufacturing operations. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for creating electrical design packages, selecting components, preparing detailed schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is carried through to production.

Responsibilities

• Create designs specific to low voltage switchgear assemblies/systems, replacement breakers, and related equipment.
• Work under the supervision of electrical engineers to develop electrical schematics, panel layout, and wiring diagrams that meet customer, manufacturing, regulatory, and project requirements.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, and terminal block drawings.
• Follow and develop standard design processes and documentation to improve quality and efficiency in engineering design.
• Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and revise existing designs to improve manufacturability, cost, or performance.
• Maintain proper version control and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design Technology, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in electrical drafting or design, preferably in switchgear or related industry.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
• Hands-on experience in panel building and wiring.
• Experience in the design of electrical switchgear, UL891, and UL1558.
• Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.
