Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking an Engineering Design Lead to manage a team of engineers and designers in Plymouth, MN. You will deliver detailed electrical engineering drawings, 3D models, and construction documents for complex installations, ensuring safety, constructibility, and code compliance.

You will coordinate with project teams, review calculations such as arc flash and load, and mentor staff while advancing design standards and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 9–10 years of design engineering experience or 8+ years with PE license.
• Extensive facilities power design experience including lighting and panel schedules.
• Healthcare/industrial/data center project experience desirable.
• Strong NEC knowledge and ability to read complex plans and specs.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and field support capability.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages a team of engineers and designers to develop electrical drawings, 3D models, and construction docs.
• Develops and reviews engineering calculations including load and short‑circuit studies.
• Acts as engineering authority for project teams, providing direction and risk mitigation.
• Reviews designs for code compliance and company standards; supports constructability reviews.
• Supports field electricians during construction and clarifies design questions.
• Mentors engineers and designers; drives design standards and QA/QC practices.
• Stays current with energy codes and coordinates with stakeholders to meet project goals.
