CannonDesign is seeking a student intern to join our multi-disciplinary team in Chicago under the guidance of a licensed engineer. You will contribute to electrical design for lighting, power, communications, and fire alarm systems, while preparing design documents through advanced stages and assisting with shop drawings.

The role offers potential evolution into a full-time entry-level position for qualified students, with opportunities to work on projects across Commercial, Education, Health,

Qualifications

Enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, SKM Power Tools) preferred.

Responsibilities

Electrical design of lighting, power distribution and communication systems including fire alarm systems.
Prepare documents and reports from concept design through technical design documentation.
Assist in review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
May visit job site to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
