Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Junior CAD designer/drafting assistant in Mobile, AL. You will perform routine designs under supervision and support engineers with drawings, calculations, and specifications.

Enrollment in an Associate degree program in design and drafting with a 2.7+ GPA is required. The role emphasizes familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD/MicroStation), design standards, and strong communication skills while offering competitive benefits such as health insurance

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Associate degree program for design and drafting with GPA 2.7 or above.
• Familiarity with design standards and codes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine designs of less complex engineering tasks under supervision.
• Follow department design and drafting standards.
• Develop conceptual layouts and studies for simple, efficient approaches.
• Produce preliminary designs, material take-offs, and detail drawings.
• Support engineers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
