Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern to perform routine designs of less complex assignments under direct supervision.

You will assist in developing conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, calculations, and drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.7+.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with design standards and codes.
• Basic mathematics and principles of three-phase electricity (UOM horsepower, kilowatts, KVA, power factor).
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation or both).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Assist in producing detailed design calculations, spreadsheets, drawings and sketches.
• Assist engineers and designers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
