Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is offering a summer internship for students pursuing Electrical Design-related degrees. You will assist engineers with design tasks, prepare drawings and ECN documents, and help manage BOMs for electrical systems.

Ideal candidates have a 3.0+ GPA, familiarity with Zuken E3 and AutoCAD, and are ready to work full-time during summer with possible part-time commitments during the school year. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $37.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Student working towards an Associate’s degree in Electrical Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or related engineering field for entire duration of internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater; high level of attention to detail; strong verbal and written skills.
• Experience with Zuken E3 Electrical Schematic Software and AutoCAD.
• Experience with DC/AC circuit design and Relay Logic.
• Familiarity with CAN/J1939 protocol; CATIA V5 / Windchill is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and designers with design tasks to ensure smooth flow of operations within the electrical engineering department.
• Utilize ERP systems to create part numbers and data entry.
• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics that conform to drafting standards.
• Prepare ECN documents based on BOMs and design layouts for data entry.
• Address component obsolescence of purchased electrical parts.
• Maintain BOMs based on industry and corporate standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality electrical system design.
• Self-check own work and work independently with minimal direction.
• Handle multiple priorities and maintain overall workflow.
